You’ve got a great sense of perspective. Do you have any rituals or routines you follow when creating art?
You’ve got a great sense of perspective. Do you have any rituals or routines you follow when creating art?
Thanks! I'm not particularly disciplined with my routine when drawing, but if you'd like to learn perspective, I recommend Marcos Mateu-Mestre's book Framed Perspective. I find that most perspective books don't really teach it in a way that shows the reader how to apply perspective in the scenes they're drawing, but Marcos' book definitely does.
The background work is stunning. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received about art?
idk i don't get advice rly.
i learned how 2 draw by looking at drawings :-)
I’m loving the vibe of this piece.
Thank you!
I'm genuinely impressed by the texture in your work, as well as the composition. The dark background makes the colors pop beautifully! @iefCuadricula, how did you become interested in creating art, and how did you discover Newgrounds?
Oh well, I started drawing when I was 11 years old thanks to my tutor at school who motivated me to continue, and I had heard about Newgrounds for a long time but I wasn't sure if I would really be ready to be here, but in the end I decided and I love this place hehehe.
Fantastic composition, it flows so well.
Thank you!
This is really creative, love it! What tools or software do you use for your art?
thank you! i use clip studio paint
The attention to detail is impressive. How do you decide on color palettes for your work?
Pinterest helps a lot with inspiration
You’ve captured the atmosphere beautifully. Can you describe your creative process?
Of course! I do extremely rough WIPs, focus on line art and flat coloring in SAI, then playing with brushes for a painted background look.
Your use of light is incredible. How do you determine when your art is ready to be published?
Thanks!! And I'm not sure tbh, I just kinda work on it until it looks done. Then I give it a once over to make sure I didn't miss any glaring issues, as well as add any details I missed, then away it goes
I love how vibrant this is! What advice has helped you in making your art?
lots of advice but generally for design i learned to live by a "less is more" philosophy which is why i tend to strip down most characters i draw and focus on features that make them stand out. another is to keep being inspired. i have done a lot of changes to my style over the months whether it's noticeable or not and most of those changes came from consuming other pieces of work. experimenting is a great way to keep art from being boring. and as for staying hungry, hard work should pay off for everyone that displays it but i feel it getting harder for artists every day. but, i gotta push forward and not let that bug me. my stuff should continue to be here for ppl to see.
